Tuesday was a great day for Menasha, and Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue, as the department dedicated its long awaited upgraded station 36 on Manitowoc Road.  The station, in the works since 2005 was part of five projects totaling almost $4.5 million benefiting Menasha which were awarded through President Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The new station highlights the importance of service to Menasha's growing east side equalizing response times throughout the city, ensuring safety and a high quality of life throughout the community.

While the station is officially dedicated today, the firefighters moved into the building on April 6th.  Just a few days later on April 10th strong winds seriously damaged the former station on Airport Rd.

The new station is sure to serve the residents of Menasha well for the next generation, just as the 68 members of the department serve our residents every day both in emergency medical situations and fires.  The building and the department are something that the residents of our community can take pride in.
