Devastating storms earlier this month left Menasha with thousands of dollars in damage, homes without power, numerous trees down, and weeks of cleanup.  Linemen from Menasha Utilities spent several days, along with 16 additional linemen from other public utilities, restoring power and repairing downed lines.  Public Works crews were in overnight Sunday clearing streets of downed trees and repairing damaged infrastructure including traffic signals and numerous signs.  Two brush chippers and numerous staff members spent the better part of two weeks cleaning up the mess that the storm quickly left behind that evening.  Credit goes to the dedicated & knowledgeable people working for us who were able to quickly and safely repair the damage.

This Friday 15 students from Clovis Grove School along with employees from SCA Tissue planted about 30 trees as part of the city's annual Arbor Day celebration.   Students learned about the parts of a tree, how to prune a tree, and how to plant a tree before pairing up and planting the trees within the school neighborhood.  This is the 28th year that Menasha has earned the title of "Tree City" from the National Arbor Day Foundation in recognition  of the city's commitment to maintain and enhance its urban forest.
