The Neenah Menasha Joint Fire Commission announced the appointment of long time Neenah Menasha Fire Rescue firefighter and current Assistant Fire Chief/ Fire Marshall Albert Auxier as the department’s second Fire Chief.

There will be a public ceramony for Mr. Auxier to take his oath at the Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue Station 35 located at 430 First Street, Menasha at 6:00PM November 30th. Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony, please join me in welcoming the new chief.

Auxier, a 30-year veteran of the Neenah Menasha Fire Rescue and previously the Neenah Fire Department, has served those departments in a wide variety of positions. He was most recently appointed Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshall in 2006. Auxier, also, served as President of the Neenah Firefighters Union and was an active participant in the discussions leading to the creation on the joint department in 2002 and 2003.

“Al brings a wealth of firefighting and fire prevention knowledge to the position along with considerable management skills.” said Commission Chairman William Mattes. “He is well respected in the department, with other City officials and within the community.”
Mattes indicated that the Commission had been comfortable seeking a new Chief from inside the department. “Neenah Menasha Fire Rescue is a well trained group and that there are a number of leaders and potential leaders in the department,” he said. “The Commission believes that the present leadership with Mr. Auxier as Chief will serve Neenah and Menasha well in the upcoming years.”
